Gender differences?

Zachary: "Mommy, don't tell Alayna, but I'm not going to marry her. I wanna marry Kayla instead."

Rebecca: "Ok, I won't tell her."

Zachary: "She asks me over & over & over at church and I just say yes, even though I don't want to marry her."

Rebecca: "Why do you say yes then?"

Zachary: "Because if I say no, she puts her head down, walks away, sits on the ground and sometimes cries."

Rebecca: "Oh my, that's too bad. Don't worry about it, sometimes girls get upset about things like that."

Zachary: "That's because girls have a lot more problems than boys."

Homework

Here's one of Zachary's homework papers he brought home. His handwriting is getting much better and more controlled, for sure. I can tell he really enjoys school.

Yellow Daisy Festival

We went to the Yellow Daisy Festival a few weekends ago. They had a bunch of fun crafts & stuff for the kids to enjoy. They both picked out some interesting face paintings (!) and got to make a little person out of recycled random items. The funniest part of the day was when Zac decided that he had to make a serious face the whole time, in order for his face-painted fangs were more legit. You will notice this in the pictures below. Hilarious!

Hammock

Grammy hung a hammock in our backyard and we LOVE IT!!!!
The kids have THE BEST time....seriously. They laugh their heads off as they roll all over each other while I push the hammock like a swing.

Mommy especially loves the hammock and has spent a few afternoons napping and a few nights enjoying the cool air (while also freaking out a few times because it is SO dark and you can't see what little creature is pitter-pattering through the back yard on the leaves. They sound much bigger than they are!).

Zachary's first field trip

Zachary went on a field trip to the Gwinnett County Fair 4H exhibit. He told me "It was SOOO smelly!" and his favorite part was petting the baby chicks. So cute!! Here are some pictures from his time there. As you will notice, he loves his friend Kayla. The last picture is of all the children from both the kindergarten classes at his school. So fun!!

In the picture above, he is sitting right over the front wheel. He's wearing a navy blue sweatshirt with the hood on (because he's a gansta, apparently)!

SOCCER!!

Let's add another sport to this year for Zachary! He has started soccer and seems to really enjoy it! He is a little taller than most of the boys on his team, which is neat (especially after the football league with the 10 year olds!). He scored 3 goals his first game, which we were SO surprised and excited about!
The coaches' son is named Zachary too, so he decided to call the boys by their last names. Zac is not used to being referred to as "Eaker," so it is hilarious because it usually takes several times before Zac realizes he's being yelled at!

This is Allie, supporting her brother out there. Notice how she's sitting in her chair? And yes, she's using my phone. My grandpa would just shake his head to watch her using an iPhone like a little pro. So funny!

I took this picture before I realized I (as a parent) was supposed to be a part of this celebratory tradition to boost the kids' spirits. (As you may know, I have a tendency to learn things like this the hard way....and I've decided to just have a good attitude about it!)

Imaginations!!!

The kids were pretending they were frogs the other day. They put their own version of "frog feet" and were hopping around. Seriously, I love their minds. So cute!!

Gymnastics!!

Zac & Allie have started gymnastics. THEY LOVE IT!!!!!!! Wow, I have never seen them enjoy something quite so much. I am so glad!! They both get VERY excited about class time and then while they're with their class, they are so intense, serious and effortful (not sure where they get those traits?!).
Zachary's teacher asked me, on the first day, "Has he ever done gymnastics before?" To which I said no. Then she said, "He has really great coordination and is very strong." I'm not surprised at all and now that I watch him at gymnastics I realize how naturally talented he is! I am so thrilled about their excitement!

Ready for the season

Well, it worked out for the kids to celebrate Notre Dame's first game with Grandpa. They wore their gear and headed to Aunt Jen's house to watch the game. So fun!!

I love this second picture because it was spontaneity from Zac and Allie loved it (see her hands?!). I love their love!!
