"Gwammy Cware"

Great-Grandma Claire (AKA "Gwammy Cware," in Zacharese) was here last week. We enjoyed every minute! Zachary got to plant & water "powers" (flowers), watch "jumpy-quirrel" (jumpy squirrel in the back yard), insist that "Gwammy Cware go get it!"(play ball), and play "tooooo heavy!" (a game that made Zachary laugh a lot!!). Allie got to be bundled up super warm and held the entire time. "Gwammy Cware" made sure she was pampered like a princess (that's what grandmas do - right?!!). Mommy enjoyed a fabulously delicious homemade banana pudding, plant a garden (pictures coming soon), and take LONG naps every day. It was marvelous!

"Where's Wollipop?"

Zachary lost his "wollipop" ("lollipop" in Zacharese) the other day. He was wandering around the kitchen saying "Where's wollipop? Zachy wost wollipop."

We looked and looked but couldn't find it....Until he turned around...and mommy saw it!

Lucky Mommy!

We were at the mall the other day and there was a huge Armani ad on display. Zachary started running towards it saying, "Daddy! Daddy!" This is a picture of the model in the ad, only in this picture, he's wearing much more clothing. Lucky Mommy!!

Fun with Family

For Easter weekend, Aunt Jen, Uncle Dan & Aunt Shell came over. Here are some pictures from Saturday's festivities. (The first picture is just a cute one of Allie from Friday.)

We did an Easter egg hunt in our yard for Zachary. He was so funny and loved the "cannies" (candies) inside the eggs. He had quite a following with all of us taking pictures/videos. I'm sure the neighbors think we're nuts.

We also decorated Easter cookies (instead of eggs), which turned out to be quite a fun experience! Zach loved to shake the sprinkles and took 1 bite out of each decorated cookie. (Seriously, we had this plate of cookies with a bite missing. So funny!) The icing on his face was hilarious.

2 Beautiful Kids

There hasn't been a day yet where Todd & I haven't discussed the fact that we are so blessed with TWO beautiful children! Wow...it's hard to believe they're both ours!

Allie is pretty in pink! She's finally starting to fit into her clothes.

She's watching & talking to Zachary. So cute!

Zachary has finally started wanting to interact with her. He is so cute. Here, he's just counting her fingers - 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,11 (yes, he's still skipping 4 & 5, and is now including 11).

Here, he hurt his hand. He says, "Owie kiss Zachy's pinger" ("Allie kiss my finger" in Zacharese). He has started including her in the "all better" kissing of injuries.

And here, he's giving her kisses. He is still a little rough, but she handles it well. He loves to pat her head, brush her hair, and kiss her "wips." (lips)

Bath time

So we gave Allie a bath the other night and Zachary helped us. He covered his ears most of the time, because she was crying (she's very modest and does not like to be naked).

However, after Allie's bath, he decided "Wac-coon" needed a bath. He also wanted to give baths to the 3 other animals in his "entourage," but we limited the bathing to 1 animal per night.

Zachary takes his care-giving responsibilities very seriously, as you can see. "Wac-coon" got the whole thorough treatment - washcloth on the hair, brush afterwards, towel dry, and even the good-smelling pink lotion!

Getting back to "normal"

We're finally getting settled after our whirlwind month since Allie's birth. Here are some pictures of us enjoying our little routine.

This is the cutest face Allie makes - she lifts her eyebrows and scrunches up her forehead. (see the little wrinkles? So cute!)

Todd's favorite part of "helping out" with the kids! Ha!

Zachary loves to dance for "baby Owie" (Zacharese for "Baby Allie") when she's in her swing. It plays music, and he'll just dance around in front of her. So cute!!

Zachary got his first "salon" hair cut. He could not have handled it better! Seriously, I brought a whole bag of "stuff" to entertain him during the cut...and didn't use any of it. He just sat still and kept saying, "All done? Zachy all done?"

"Zachy's Bugs"

Zachary has a new favorite collection of toys - these little plastic bugs. In Zacharese, "wady-books, centi-peed, beetull, cricket-sound, gwass-hopper" (ladybugs, centipede, beetle, cricket, grasshopper). He pronounces "centipede" exactly correct & with great annunciation - it sounds so funny coming from a two-year old!

He piles them all in this boat and pushes it around. Sometimes he'll try to make it float in water with all the bugs on it. He gets pretty frustrated when they fall off. Then he says, "wady-books cwimb up," (Lady bugs climb up) to put them back on the boat.

But, by far, my favorite thing he does with the bugs is when he puts them to sleep. He uses this little pillow beside his bed. He'll say, "Zachy's bugs nite-nite," in Zacharese. Notice, they are all laying on their backs! I love it!
