A Day at the Zoo?

Well...actually, the cheaper, air-conditioned and down-sized (but just as thrilling for a 1-year old!) version of the Zoo...otherwise known as Petsmart! What a day! On Saturdays, they have dogs and cats all over the store for adoption day. Zachary had the BEST time. We took a ton of pictures (I know...shocking), and here are a few (yes, just a few).

This dog was HUGE! An American Mastif. Todd almost peed his pants.

Zachary made this face when the caged dogs barked at him. Love it!

The birds freaked him out. When they flew around the cage, he'd back up and flap his arms.

Samurai Warrior

Zachary has to wear this tiny (and hilarious) bathing suit for his swimming lessons. The other day (while we were getting ready for swimming lessons) he was running around with two of his golf clubs like a little warrior (and apparently a little poser too...!). So funny!

Bandleader?

Todd singing...
"Oh oh...here she comes...watch out boy - she'll chew you up...oh oh here she comes...she's a bandleader..."

The Little Man & the Sea

We had a weekend trip to the Carolina coast for Todd's work. Zachary had fun at the beach. He actually got in the water and would run back & forth with the tides. So cute. He also had fun poking sticks into the sand and watching the sea gulls.

Rainy Tuesday

We had the most fun yesterday! It rained for the first time in awhile, so Zachary & I headed outside for another "first" - playing in the rain!

Naturally, blankie has to accompany most of Zach's outings, so why was I surprised when he ran back to the door to grab it and drag it through the puddle?

Like a Big Brother

Zachary's friend Carson came over to play last week and they had such a good time together. Zachary adores Carson - follows him around and laughs at everything he does. And Carson is the best 'big brother' to Zach - he even helped him put his shoes on!

Neither of them ate very much for lunch, they were both too distracted by each other. Carson was tickling Zach's toes and Zach would laugh so hard it made Carson laugh too!

Carson' s a natural, he knew to just tell Zachary what the pictures were.

They'd build a tower and knock it over...and over...and over...

Carson kept putting little 'hats' on Zach, who would then just laugh (again)!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my dad, who is currently recovering from hand surgery due a broken hand suffered during our most recent family football game. Everything is fun with you! Thanks for teaching us to enjoy life! And to all the dads in our lives - Happy Father's Day!!

This past weekend we spent time with all of Grammy's family at their house in Florida. Zachary had a good time in the pool. More Florida pictures to come...

The Sprinkler

One of my favorite childhood memories is playing in the sprinkler with my sisters. I was hoping Zachary would like it too. He tip-toed around it for a few minutes, but eventually walked right through it and laughed on the other side! An hour later, he was soaked and silly.

Busted Lip

Zachary had a rough day yesterday. He & Todd were playing catch with the ball, and Zachary ran face-first into the coffee table - busting his lip. This is actually his 2nd busted lip, but this one's much worse than the first one a few weeks ago. He is much better today, and doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all. As usual, mommy & daddy are handling it worse than he is.
