Little Friends

Zachary's started calling his friend Emma, "Emmie" and asks about her every day. After she leaves, he'll walk around the house saying, "Emmie? Emmie?" and look for her. They have so much fun together. Here they were singing and banging the cabinet doors.More singing, but now we're banging the back door.

They were just laughing at each other for no apparent reason.

Notice they are both standing on the same little box. So funny!

This is how they give "baby love" - Emma will lean her head towards Zach and he'll pretend to give her a kiss on the head.

They decided to hang out in the cabinets, because that's a cool place to hang out - right?!

What the...?

Ok, so I went to the library to check out some books to read to Zachary (since he begs to "rea...rea...rea..." all day)! I saw this Dr. Seuss book and thought it might be fun. I laughed at this little "disclaimer" on the front, thinking, Dr. Seuss is so funny to put a note like that. When we got home, Zachary was pulling at my legs to "rea...rea...rea" the stack of books we dragged in. So we sat down, and I started to read "Fox in Socks" to my 18-month old. After 3 pages, he gave me the funniest disgruntled look, grabbed the book and threw it down. My sentiments exactly!!

Grown Up

Mimi took these pictures of Zachary last week. He looks so grown up!!

Just like Monet

This is Zach's first school project. He used an ink stamper (like you'd use for bingo) and pasted a leaf on the page. Ms. Latecia said he was "so proud of himself" when he finished it.

Fun with Mimi

Mimi was here visiting for a week. Zachary does quite a few things that "melted" Mimi's heart. First (and most importantly!), he started calling her "Mimi."

He'd say, "Rea...rea...rea" over & over when he wanted her to read books (which is VERY often).

He'd also say, "push...push..." when he wanted her to push him in his little cart.

They also played with his "bull" (Zacharese for "balloon").

...And read some more!

Chores

Zachary has started helping out (a little) with some of the household chores. He did really well with the dusting, but not so much with the vacuuming. It seems that the bristles on the underside of the handi-vac were very interesting...and therefore too much of a distraction for him.

Playing with play-dough

So I made some play-dough (for the first time ever) for Zachary. Of course, being the creative/artistic/crafty person that I am, I did not have food coloring, so we have plain play-dough. Anyway, Zachary is JUST like his daddy - and does not like to have "stuff" (anything sticky, messy or unnatural) on his hands. So, his version of "playing with play-dough" involved sticking anything (other than his fingers) in the pile of dough.

And of course, we had the obligatory "taste test," which usually ends after the first lick.

Happy Baby

We are so blessed to have such a happy baby! Zachary giving daddy a kiss goodnight.

Chef Todd

Todd created a new dessert after dinner last night. Here's the recipe, if you're interested. It's quite a diverse range of flavors!

1 bowl of Shelley's peach cobbler (warm)
1 cup of Neapolitan ice cream (just the strawberry & vanilla parts)
2 Tblsp chocolate syrup

Serve with a cup of cold milk.

Zacharina?

We realize we have some work to do as we prepare Zachary to be a big brother. Here's a picture of his first time meeting a newborn baby. He was not that impressed.Needless to say, he was also not thrilled to be sharing Grammy with the baby.

We don't know the gender just yet...but here's a picture of Zach's little sibling about a month ago.

Big News!

We are excited to announce that Zachary is a big brother!! His little sibling will be here in March 2008. Yep...can you picture us with 2 kids? Scarey!
