The apple...

...does not fall far from the tree.

I told Zachary to go pick out what he wanted to wear on our weekend trip to Florida. This is what I found. Exactly. He is just like his parents. I love this kid.

Cute (not cool) Boy

Zachary informed me today that he doesn't like it when people say he's "cool" (which we often d0, because he IS!). So I asked him which words he prefers for us to use when we like how he looks. He said, "It's ok to say I'm handsome. But I like to be cute the most."

So, here are some new pictures of my super cute and very handsome boy.
P.S. I have no idea why he's not wearing his glasses in these pics. I didn't realize it until afterwards, when I was editing.

John Deer

The weather was good (enough) this weekend, so the kids got to ride their tractor. So fun!

Big brother, showing her how to drive it:
Here, he's telling her to make the John Deer logo on the steering wheel upright.
Love my girl! She kept giving me this thumbs up sign when they'd pass me.

How many verys?

Mommy: "Zachary, when we get home, you have to go sit in your bed while I put Allie down for a nap. You & I need to talk about what you just did."

Zachary: "...About running in the parking lot?"

Mommy: "Yes, that was a very bad choice you made."

Silence for several minutes

Zachary: "Mommy, people go to jail for very very very very very very bad choices, right?"

Mommy: "Yes."

Zachary: "Was running in the parking lot a very very very bad choice?"

Mommy: "Yes it was."

Zachary: "But only 3 verys, right?...not 6"

Mommy: "Yes, only 3."

Zachary: "Ok, good." (said with a sigh of relief)

Lil' Chicks

We've started a little reward system for the kids involving money. Mostly coins, but a few dollar bills here & there. They can earn money by volunteering for extra chores, reading a book, or making self-sacrificing gestures for each other (aka: sharing).
It has actually been really productive and interesting to watch them try to negotiate their way into making more money.
Anyway, I took them to the store so they could spend the first 2 week's worth of their money. They each brought a ziploc bag full of coins into the store and decided to buy these cute little wind-up chicks that were part of an Easter display.
Apart from Allie breaking the legs off of hers within 10 minutes of being home, they were a good buy. The kids have enjoyed winding them up and chasing them around.
