KINDERGARTEN! (omg)

Well, yesterday Zac was born and today he went to kindergarten. That's about how it feels! We have been so excited about today (and a little sad, but in a good way!) and it really went very smoothly and minimally emotionally (is that proper English?!).

We surprised him with balloons that had goofy encouragement notes on them, which he LOVED. And his favorite breakfast - blueberry pancakes, which didn't cook completely through and therefore freaked him out a little (Hello, my name is Rebecca and I'm an imperfect mom).
As you'll notice, I'm pretty sure Zac was more nervous to leave Panda than his parents. Ha!! Here he is with his back pack & lunch box. The backpack was empty because we brought all his school supplies in on the day of the Open House. His lunch box was weighing it down!

He walked right in the classroom, followed the instructions and LITERALLY never looked back. The momentarily-needy mama in me was hoping for a run-to-the-door good bye hug, but I'm SUPER proud that my independent little boy was confident enough to face the day and conquer Kindergarten without looking back.

Thank you to all my family & good friends for checking in on me today. I am handling it fine. I had a moment of sadness on the drive to the school, but with my sunglasses on and his mind distracted with excitement, Zac has no idea that I cried on our way to his first day of Kindergarten. I am SO happy for him and SO certain he will love it. I just can't believe how quickly we got to this day. Good stuff though. Good memories and sooooo many happy moments.

Atlantis

We are back home from our super fun trip to the Bahamas! Here are a few more pics from our time there.
This is an awesome shark tank that had probably 6-8 huge sharks (they have some kind of global claim to fame about this particular shark habitat) and INSIDE the tank are two of the water slide endings. You finish in a tube that cuts right through the tank! Todd is somewhere behind there. The kids LOVED seeing him in there! It was neat.

Allie got some Bahama braids!! She loves them and will flip her head back & forth so she can feel the beads on her head! So cute.

Part of the reward for the trip was a bunch of yummy food including desserts at every meal! Wow, we ate A LOT! All of us did! And the food WAS really good!
Here are a couple of family pics we took with our self-timing camera. These two turned out pretty good!

My favorite part of the trip was one night we went out to the cove, which was almost empty and therefore fabulous! We watched the sunset behind this awesome mushroom cloud and the kids played in the sand & the ocean. It was quiet, beautiful and so peaceful. Loved it!
This was outside our favorite restaurant, Mosaic. We had our breakfasts there the second half of the week. SUCH good food. I became a huge fan of coconut french toast. YUM!
Todd's company had a few fun dinner parties throughout the week. This one was a lot of fun for the kids because they had balloon animals, face-painting, etc...and they danced their little hearts out (which I LOVE!!!). So cute.

Atlantis, Day 2

We are on a family vacation to The Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It has been a super busy 2 days. Here are some pictures from today:

Allie was SUPER brave today and LOVED the kids waterpark. This is her coming down from a pretty big slide. I was nervous at first, but she was determined!:
Here the kids slid together! So cute:
Allie got her sweet little face painted. When I first saw it, I pretended like I was looking for my "Allie" and asked who this crazy girl was. The rest of the day, she'd say, "Mommy, ask me where Allie is!" So funny!:
Here's me & Zachary eating lunch. He LOVED the lazy river. We tubed down the river, and they also have a section where you can choose to enjoy "the rapids," which were a little crazy, but a lot of fun!!
We ventured out to the streets for awhile & met a cool guy on stilts. He asked Allie to give him a hug (ha!):
We ate dinner at a really yummy family-style Italian restaurant. It was SO much food. Allie's being super silly with Daddy:
Out on the streets, there was a little Bahamian band and a whole bunch of homemade instruments laid out for kids to play along. It was a lot of fun to watch the kids enjoy themselves. They really had a blast!:

We also walked along the docked Yachts. Oh my goodness. There were some CRAZY huge yachts.

Rapunzel

My kids love the movie "Tangled." It's basically the story of Rapunzel. The other day, they were playing Rapunzel and this was Allie's Rapunzel look. She would stand at the top of the stairs, Zac would be at the bottom and he'd yell, "Rapunzel, let down your hair..." and she'd throw it over for him to grab. I love it!!

Superheros!!

We went to another Gwinnett Braves game last weekend. They were having a superhero theme. Both kids wore their favorite superhero capes. There were LOTS of people who really dressed up, so that was fun!!
