Mr. Z goes to school...

...Well, "Child's Morning Out" preschool at a nearby church. He starts next week and will go for 2 half days each week. We are really excited for him. Today was the open house and he loved it!
The class has 80% boys and 20% girls. Zach will love that!
This is his teacher Ms. Latecia.
This is the assistant teacher Ms. Kaytie.

What's wrong with this picture?

Because, clearly, one utensil is not enough.

Up we go

Zachary has started climbing into and onto everything. This climbing stage usually comes much earlier for most kids, but Zach's always been content not climbing...until now. He's managing fairly well and has only fallen off the couch (face first) twice.

And blankie makes 2

We've been quite attached to blankie lately. Zachary's brought blankie in the bath, at the pool, during dinner and in the sprinkler. He's also realized that mommy has accumulated 4 blankies (as back up), and sometimes all 4 of them will join Zach on his adventures.

New Little Quirk

This week, Zachary has started asking for applesauce with all his meals. He'll say "applesss" and protest until he gets a bowl on his tray. After a few days, I realized why. He is dipping all his food in applesauce! Here's how it works:
1) Dip cracker in applesauce.
2) Inspect and eat cracker.

Here's an alternate way:
1)Drop turkey in applesauce.
2)Make sure turkey is smothered with applesauce.
3)Retrieve applesauce-covered turkey with spoon and eat. (sometimes the retrieval takes a few tries - he's still learning to properly use the utensils)

Poor little guy

Zachary has strep throat. He's usually a trooper, but this time, we can tell he's feeling pretty miserable. Say some prayers for him.

Long Weekend

Aunt Jen & Uncle Dan only live 3 hours away now, and they came over this weekend for a special visit. We had a busy weekend!Zachary being cuddly with Aunt Jen!
Daddy & Uncle Dan enjoyed scintillating conversation.
Zachary with Aunt Jen & Uncle Dan viewing the ocean exhibit at the uncomfortably & unreasonably crowded Georgia Aquarium.
Zachary also got to see sting rays and sharks up close.
Getting a little loopy at Ikea (yes, those are .99 cent toilet brushes)!
Playing silly games with Aunt Jen.

HOTlanta

Heat Index for today
Zachary is saying "Hot"

He's mad at me because I won't take him outside. Along with the stifling heat, the air quality this week has been in the "dangerous" category and they're telling us to stay inside. I'm running out of fun things to do inside...and Zach's face says it all!

World Traveler

We headed to Florida this past weekend to celebrate Aunt Shell's 27th birthday. For a 16-month old, Zachary sure has taken some trips!Loving the breeze off the ocean
Feeding the birds
Hangin' with Grammy & Grandpa
Napping with Grandpa
Swimming in Aunt Shell's kiddie pool
Eating with Uncle Eric (well, actually, just spreading Eric's Ranch dressing all over the plate and messing up his "chips & dip system")
